Turning Tassels and Looking Forward: Horizon Celebrates the Class of 2026

As the 2025–2026 school year comes to a close, Horizon Charter School has much to celebrate. From meaningful friendships and leadership opportunities to academic achievements and milestone moments, this year has been filled with experiences that have strengthened our school community and created lasting memories for students and families alike.

For many students, this year brought new opportunities and connections. Sophomore Peyton Sumner reflected on her first year at Horizon, sharing, “This was my first year at Horizon, but I had a good time! My supervising teacher was super helpful and kind, and all of the teachers are super smart and supportive!” Peyton also highlighted her involvement in the High School Leadership Club, where she formed valuable friendships and helped plan two school dances, making her first year especially memorable.

The year concluded with one of Horizon’s most significant celebrations—graduation. On May 28, the Jessup University theater was filled with excitement and pride as 130 graduates crossed the stage to receive their diplomas and officially turn their tassels. The ceremony featured a moving rendition of the National Anthem by Echo Gibson, inspiring student speeches from Titus Chavez and valedictorian Caeley Richards, and a heartfelt musical performance by Isaiah True.

Family members, friends, staff, and community members gathered to honor the graduates’ accomplishments as they embarked on their next chapter. The celebration ended on a joyful note with a surprise Mariachi band performance that brought graduates and guests to their feet in song and dance.

As we reflect on another successful school year, we are grateful for the students, families, teachers, and staff who make Horizon such a special community. Thank you for contributing to a year filled with growth, achievement, and unforgettable memories.

We wish all of our students and families a restful and enjoyable summer and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting year this fall.
