A Wild Time With Conservation Ambassadors!

by: Elena Eslami

On September 25th, the Conservation Ambassadors held a Wild Things, live animal presentation.  We met Darwin, the Capuchin Monkey, who equally loves eating fruit snacks and playing on iPhones; Rizzy, a striped skunk, who bonded with humans as a baby; Tawny, the red-tailed hawk, whose species can withstand a gravitational force double that of humans; and, at the end, we were not only introduced to Chubbs, the American Alligator, but all attendees were invited to pet him and say hello! Conservation Ambassadors truly allowed our community to appreciate these beautiful creatures and recognize our ability to help support their conservation efforts.

After the presentation, 30 students attended an art lesson with Ms. Barker and Ms. Thompson. Keeping with our animal theme, friends joked and laughed as they created unique, imaginative portraits of the Great Horned Owl and a Capybara. We are very thankful that Conservation Ambassadors came out to our school in Lincoln!
