The Montessori Method of Child Centered Education
The Lincoln Montessori program incorporates Montessori methodologies into a public school setting. Our multi-grade classroom design provides a family learning dynamic with older students acting as mentors and role models for younger students.
At Lincoln Montessori, we go beyond the traditional Montessori school. Here, children from kindergarten through sixth grade learn in a dynamic, nurturing environment that incorporates hands-on lessons, community service projects, and school-wide events.
Student independence is encouraged, which allows children to become active participants in their educational choices under the close guidance of highly qualified educators. Individual and group activities build confidence, reinforce concepts and create a sense of community. Students are encouraged to reason, cooperate, collaborate, negotiate, and truly comprehend.
Students attend Lincoln Montessori five days each week, from Monday through Friday. Credentialed teachers experienced in the Montessori method teach the small, multi-grade classes. This allows children to work at their own level while ensuring all state educational requirements are being met.
Families Are Important to a Child’s Education
We believe families should be an integral part of a child’s learning process. At Lincoln Montessori, parents take an active role in their children’s education as art docents, on field trips, in the classroom, or even behind the scenes.
We also host several family events throughout the year to bring families together, like:
- A family dance
- A family game night
- A family science night
- A family movie night
- A parents night out
- And so much more!
We even have our very own Parent Advisory Committee and Board of Directors. Come and join the fun!
