Horizon Charter Schools Students Form Band, Perform at Roseville Learning Center
Students at the Roseville Learning Center got a winter treat today when Auburn Road made a special appearance. Eric Rucker with Fox 40 was on hand, too. The station will broadcast the event on their news show tonight at 5 and 6:30pm.
Auburn Road is made up of two Horizon Charter Schools graduates and one current high school senior who will graduate in a couple of weeks.
When we thanked the girls for performing, they graciously thanked us for the opportunity. They attribute some of their success to the flexibility of their schedules and opportunities for a variety of class while homeschooling through Horizon Charter Schools. The girls said they were excited about performing for other homeschoolers to help inspire them to follow their dreams.
“We just want the kids to know that we were once where they are, and that they can do anything they want in life,” said singer Paxton Martin.
Roseville Learning Center seventh grade student Ella Martinez got the message. “It’s really inspiring to kids that maybe don’t have self-confidence that they can sing or do anything else they want.”
Here’s a song Auburn Road wrote to help young girls who might be bullied into thinking they aren’t as good as others realize their potential.
