Board to Address “Return to Learn” at April Meeting
Horizon’s Governing Board to Discuss How to Provide Services in 2021-22 School Year
The following is a message from our Superintendent/CEO regarding planning for the 2021-22 School Year:
Dear HCS Horizon Charter Schools’ Families,
Together, in partnership with you, we have continued to educate our students throughout this time of public health concern. HCS has taken safety measures throughout the last year as evidenced by the full distanced learning educational delivery. Thank you for your participation with our virtual attendance gathering and support system. As we continue toward the end of the 2020/2021 school year, I would like to share with you some useful information for your planning.
On Thursday, April 15, 2021, the HCS Governing Board will hold the regular April meeting with the agenda to include the status of how we will provide services for the 2021-2022 school year, beginning in August. This public meeting agenda will hold an action item regarding the “Return to Learn.” This means that the HCS Governing Board will take action to continue the present educational virtual delivery, or they will take action to return to education as we knew it to be prior to the COVID changes, along with public health safety measures in place. Planning details and further information will follow the decision by the HCS Governing Board.
If you would like to attend the HCS Governing Board meeting, the log-in information will be posted on the Horizon website 72 hours prior to the meeting. There will be opportunity to address the HCS Governing Board during the “Communication From The Public” section of the agenda. If you choose to complete the “Speaker Card,” you will be given three minutes to share your thought, before the next speaker is called to speak. The members of the HCS Governing Board will be actively listening to you prior to taking their votes. However, they will not be conversing with you directly due to the Brown Act governance protocols for public meetings.
Please, be assured that HCS will continue to take all public health recommended steps for the assurance of the health and safety of our learning community.
