Program Description: Sacramento Academy for Enterprising Youth (SAEY) provides a "Hybrid" educational option to students in the Elk Grove and South Sacramento areas. The academy serves grades 7-12 in a professional atmosphere. SAEY offers small, personalized college preparatory classes in English, Social Science, Mathematics, and Science. These core classes are reinforced and expanded through work-based learning activities such as career-related student competitions, internships, simulated workplace experiences, technical mentoring, and school-based enterprises.
Students in grades 7, 8, and 9 attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays, students in grades 10, 11, and 12 attend on Mondays and Wednesdays for core academic classes. On Fridays, elective classes are offered. Students work independently on the days they do not attend classes.
To maintain high academic standards, every student is assigned a Supervising Teacher to help them reach their educational goals and to complete graduation requirements. The Supervising Teacher may meet weekly with each student or at a minimum of once every 20 school days during a Learning Period. Technology is infused in all classes.
