Respect for Excellence and Creative Hearts (REACH)
REACH is a 3-day a week co-op program based in Auburn and designed to serve K-6 students in the greater Placer County area. This program takes students on a journey to discover, question, and investigate the world in which they live with parents and teachers as their guides.
Who might be a good candidate for this program: Families who want the socialization, resources, and professional staff of a traditional public school, but also desiring the benefits of a homeschool.
What personal qualities will be needed to be successful in this program: A willingness to learn, discover, question, and investigate the world around them.
What outcomes can I expect: Students enrolled in this program will be exposed to technology, the many aspects of Visual and Performing Arts, and multi-sensory project based learning activities with an emphasis on developing critical thinking skills.
What are the next steps: Complete a school application and mark the box REACH on the application. The Site Coordinator will invite you to a short orientation and a brief interview.
Program Description: HCS' REACH program offers an innovative model of learning for Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Parents and teachers form a partnership in instruction where students have the opportunity to learn in both a homeschool and site-based environment each week. Our site-based program, with its small class sizes, engages students in project-based, multi-sensory experiences. Collaboration and independent thinking are encouraged and critical thinking skills developed.
